Our God is a great big God… PDF Print E-mail
Well as we continue to visit schools we are continually blessed by how excited the kids seem to get! It’s great to know that you are speaking the truth into their lives and that truth can make a difference.  The children respond so well to the assemblies and seem to love the lively acting and they all go out from the assembly still singing the song ‘Our God is a Great Big God’ which leaves me with a big smile on my face!

The Lord’s Church PDF Print E-mail

Active ImageThe Lord’s church is situated in the midst of the IT [information technology] corridor in Kallukttai, Perungudi, Madras, India. Though in the midst of such sophistication, this area is deprived of basic facilities like electricity and running water. Every evening this place submerges in to darkness while the power station is next door. When you walk through the main street above which the high tension wires pass through from the power station, you can hear the electricity pass through.

We've started building by faith in India PDF Print E-mail

Active ImageUsing our last reserves in India we have decided to start the building process.  We have bought land some months back to serve around 20 hindu villages with vocational projects and a school.

There is a small building that has been constructed as a place where the cement mixing and brick laying can be organised, in the intense het, over 40 degrees some days.

The school once built will literally serve thousands of children in an around the surrounding area, we have intentionally chosen an area where we believe the majority of people haven't yet heard the Gospel clearly.  So this is a great opportunity, we just need your help in building.

The Nsimbe Project, Uganda PDF Print E-mail
Active ImageFor some time we had been hoping to expand our home in Bulange through purchasing more land as well as the compounds we currently rent.  However the cost of purchasing land so near to the centre of Kampala is much more than land slightly outside the city.  Hence we started looking for land further afield and have bought 7 acres (6.93 to be precise!) about 26km from our current offices and home.

Hundreds take part in summer outreach PDF Print E-mail

Children perform for parents at the end of the outreachOur team has experienced some amazing times during the summer outreach in India which saw around 750 children taking part.

Week-long events were carried out at three of our education centres and three villages we had never visited before. The settings were sometimes unconventional. The first outreach was held in a remote village with no churches but some ground under a tree with cows grazing alongside did us just fine! It certainly didn’t stop the 40 children from several villages who made the effort to come along. Another event took place in a fishing village where we had been invited by the head of the village - the only Christian in a community of more than 200 families.

Uganda Mission Team Update PDF Print E-mail

Active ImageA team of five (Matthew Pardoe, Sara Barnett, Nancy Spencer, Jessica Sepulveda & Natasha Palmer) are in Uganda at the moment, some for two weeks and some for three weeks, doing outreach and schools work as well as working with the Children in our Bulange Home.

The last couple of days staying with Pastor Sam who we have been with before. This time though there has been some opposition at the end of the meeting, when people are asked if they would like to become Christians.
Here is the text from Matthew.

.....lot of young men mocking as people coming forward. pray that God will bring down strongholds and show how powerful He is and that He shouldn't be mocked - pray for team the lodge we're staying in isn't the best!

We've had excellent reports from other places, but would now ask that we pray that there would be a tremendous change in the spiritual atmosphere in the this place.

The team are going into Schools this morning, and then three members of the team return home on the weekend and two new folks from Gold Hill Baptist Church will be going to help work on improving our systems in Uganda.

So please, pray for protection, that God would be with the whole team and that the Holy Spirit would come in Power and visit the region.

Uganda Mission Team latest update PDF Print E-mail

Active ImageWe've had a missions team in Uganda for the last two weeks.  The final part of the trip the team has been in Bombo just North of Kampala with Pastor Sam.

They were doing open air evangelism, and met some resistance at the beginning, but with over a hundred people responding to our prayer request it's great to know that breakthrough came.

Here is the original text from Matthew.

.....lot of young men mocking as people coming forward. Pray that God will bring down strongholds and show how powerful He is and that He shouldn't be mocked - pray for team the lodge we're staying in isn't the best!

Here is the text from last night.

More saved tonight than other nights, about 90 odd over three nights - even local witch-doctor turned up and said he'd had enough of being in bondage and wanted to give Jesus a go!   think most of the boys who were mocking came forward! the worst behaved one was begging us for a bible at the end- a bit hard to take in!

Three of the team are flying home tonight, keep praying as Sara and Nancy are staying on for a further week.  Thanks so much for your prayers.  We'll put a full report on the website in the next week or so.
