Schools team welcomes new member |

In answer to our prayer our schools team now has a new member who had her first week this week. Sara is coming on board for one day each week and is a huge asset to the team. With a great servant heart and skill at making people laugh, Sara is also good at handling the trusty open door van!
With the demand on the schools team high it is always important to be looking for new members and the more people who get on board the better. Having Sara starting with us means that we can get into an extra 2 schools a week which means that in a month that’s 8-10 schools that otherwise wouldn’t get a chance to hear our message. Sara has also recently returned from a trip to one of our children’s homes in Uganda which she had visited for the first time last year. She explains how and why she came to be a part of this team.“As a Christian, I have many pieces of scripture that have greatly influenced my life. None more so than Mark 10:13-16 ‘People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.’ God has placed children’s ministry on my heart for several years. Although, participating in our chapel youth and children’s clubs etc, I knew that he had a plan that involved hundreds of children but was unsure about how this could be achieved. 2 years ago, I was at chapel and learnt about the work of An Open Door and its ministry. Since then my life has changed dramatically. I have been fortunate enough to visit Uganda as part of a missionary team for the last two years and God has clearly shown me his purpose and plan for my life both in the UK and Uganda. Joining the UK schools team at ‘An Open Door’, I have seen an answer to prayer and the beginning of a new chapter in my Christian life. Monday was my first visit within the UK. Although nervous, the experience was incredible and spiritually overwhelming. God has given Katharine an amazing skill and talent to be able to work with children and I feel privileged in being able to be part of this amazing Christian team, and I look forward to the future ahead!”We continue to share the message of Jesus with Children all across South Wales and finish our current programme towards the end of this term. It is now time to get down to writing the new programme for next year which is an exciting prospect. Please continue to pray for our team as we head into schools and if you feel that you would like to get more involved then contact the office or Katharine directly via email on
